Parts of West Virginia are bracing for more rain just as last week's flood waters begin to recede.

On Monday, 22 counties are under a flash flood watch and the death toll continues to rise.

Last week's storm dumped up to ten inches of rain in less than 12 hours. The National Weather Service (NWS) is calling that storm a "one-in-a-thousand-year event."

So far, 25 people have been killed, including Diana Sanders husband of 37 years. All that's left of their home is the front steps. Raging floodwater washed the house away with her husband inside.

"I swore I saw him walking last night in the same clothes I last saw him in...Wishful thinking," said Sanders.

Search crews continue to go door to door looking for survivors. Meanwhile, victims are coming together bringing water, food, and clothes to those left with nothing.

At last check, about 18,000 homes and businesses are still without power.
