A large Kingfisher family is counting their blessings despite a fire that ravaged the family home last Friday.

Seth and Elizabeth Pedigo have three biological children, and they’ve adopted five others, four through Oklahoma DHS, since 2011. The youngest of those five is 9-month-old Judah, who was born critically ill.  Seth rescued Judah from the fire last Friday.

“The smoke was so thick I couldn’t see anything, so I just had to make it to his room through memory,” he said.

While the family has lost their home, they haven’t lost their faith.

“Someone working at the fire gave us a hundred-dollar bill, everyone is handing us money, and dropping off donations, and we are just blown away,” said Elizabeth Thursday afternoon.

Seth is a home remodeler, and says firefighters told him the source of the fire was some sort of electrical issue in the 100-year-old home. The family is very thankful a landlord offered them a rental home to live in for the next six months, at a drastically-reduced price.

“We learned through our journey’s in foster care and adoption that God is with us at all times, and he will provide everything we need, if we seek and obey him,” Elizabeth Pedigo said.

“There’s no words to express our gratitude,” said Seth.
