A man died in a hospital after a suffering severe injuries in fight at an apartment in Tecumseh.
The brawl happened about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Stonebridge Apartments in the 700 block of N 6th in Tecumseh.
Investigators say the victim, 31-year old Randall Warner, lived in the Stonebridge Apartment Complex in Tecumseh. Officers say he was beaten to death in the complex by 21-year old Joseph Wells Wednesday night. Investigators believe Wells used a metal pipe.
Warner's family says he recently got Wells a job here at a gas station in town, but Wells was fired after a few days and took it out on Warner.
"The guy was mad and having issues with him because of it,” said Warner’s Aunt, Chandra Cansler.
Warner leaves behind a wife and 4-year-old daughter, Fiona.
"I was so proud of him,” Warner’s mother, Kristi Anderson said. “He loved her more than life and his life revolved around Fiona and being a good daddy."
Now, the family says they want justice for Warner's daughter.
"I need that,” Anderson said. “I need that and my granddaughter needs that. I need her to know the man that my son tried to help and took his life, that somebody realizes how wrong that was. And we don't let him get away with it."
Police say the investigation is still ongoing, but at this point they say it appears as though Warner actually started the fight and then Wells came back later with the pipe and beat Warner to death.
