Despite the disturbing testimony and seeing the evidence displayed before the jury, Johnson sat calmly and quietly as his girlfriend answered prosecutors’ questions about her recollection of what happened the night of the attack.

She tearfully told the jury how both she and her friend 24-year-old Rachel Rogers were forced to perform sex acts while Johnson threatened them with her large kitchen knives. She said Rogers told Johnson she would cooperate and did not want anyone to get hurt.

She the testified that Johnson tied them up and beat them over the head with several items including a cast iron mallet and a frying pan, despite their screams and cries for him to stop. Rogers later died as a result of the attack.

After a lunch break, Johnson's girlfriend resumed her testimony on the stand. She told jurors how Johnson took her debit card and forced her to give him the pin number. And how after the beatings, Rachel looked lifeless on the floor. She talked about how when Johnson left, she tried to count how long he was gone before she tried to get out of her ropes and get help.

Johnson's girlfriend continued to say how during this horrendous attack her daughter was asleep soundly in her room. And when she managed to get to her daughter's room, she told her daughter to cut her out of the ropes so they could call 911.

Prosecutors played that 911 call for the jury.

A jury of five women and nine men are hearing this case and will ultimately have to decide if Johnson is guilty or not guilty of first degree murder and 10 other felony counts.

Johnson's defense team says he is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity for the murder and assault of Rachel Rogers even though he does not deny he attacked both women.
