The FDA wants to cut the salt in our favorite foods. The agency just issued new sodium guidelines.

The Federal Government is recommending packaged and restaurant foods be changed to include less salt. "Live Science" analyzed 150 food categories to see which ones will see the biggest drops in sodium over the next ten years.

At No.5, frozen vegetables. Next, bacon bits and pieces. No.3, pre-packaged salads with add-ons like cheese, croutons, and meats.

Coming in at No.2, frozen or refrigerated bakery products like frozen pancakes and waffles.

The food most likely to see the biggest drop in sodium, Asian-style sauces like teriyaki, sweet and sour, and stir fry.

It's important to note the FDA's recommendations are voluntary, so companies don't actually have to follow them.
