Oklahoma City police are looking for a woman who is accused of snatching a purse at a metro Wal-Mart and going on a shopping spree, spending thousands of dollars.

Police say they were called to the Belle Isle Wal-Mart about 6 p.m. Saturday, and now, are trying to track down a woman they think went on a shopping spree with someone else's money.

Saturday evening, Angela Jay went grocery shopping, but she didn't get to bring those groceries home.

“The basket was like right here. Of course, it was in the seat, and she’s just right there like two feet from me, and she just reached in, snatched it and turned around and walked off,” Jay said.

And it happened before Jay even had a chance to notice, and by the time she did, the woman was long gone.

“She knew exactly how to do it. From the way she looked when she took my purse. She did not look nervous or in a hurry,” Jay said. “She charged up $3,000’s worth, and maxed out my credit cards.”

Jay thinks she did so within minutes and had the audacity to hit up the stores in the same shopping complex. Jay thinks when she was reporting the crime to police, the woman was swiping her card as fast as she could.

“She evidently just immediately left Wal-Mart within minutes and started hitting Target, other Wal-Marts, shoe stores, Lane Bryant,” Jay said.

Now, Jay says she doesn't know how she's going to feed herself let alone her animals. But that's not her only worry.

“She has my house key,” she said. “She has my car key and my address.”

She said she's already talked to OKC Locksmith about reprogramming the key to her car. Now, she has to figure out a way to secure her house and hopefully prevent someone from running into whoever this woman is in the future.

“If I can be of some help for someone else to not have to go through this,” she said. “I want it to end.”

Right now, police are going through store surveillance video to capture images of this woman. They said they will release the photos as soon as possible.
