Suspect In Custody After Pursuit, Manhunt In NW OKC

One suspect is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase and manhunt in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood, Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the suspect was being sought for drug charges just before the chase began.

The suspect fled in a black SUV and led police on a brief chase, onto Northwest Expressway and then to the Lake Hefner Parkway, before ditching the vehicle on a neighborhood road near NW 51st and N. Grand Blvd. 

A K9 unit was called in to assist in the search. Eventually officers cordoned off a section of the neighborhood and tracked the man down to a duplex belonging to his girlfriend or his girlfriend's father, according to police.

After making contact with someone in the home, police were able to make the arrest. Authorities have not yet identified the suspect.

No one was injured and no property was damaged during the pursuit.
