Two home invasions in one week are now connected to a teen. Investigators caught him Thursday, May 26, with two others running from an Edmond home after pulling a gun on the homeowner.

Investigators tracked the teen to both homes using the GPS from his probation ankle monitor.

The crimes happened two days apart, and the homes are two miles away from one another.

Investigators said the teen's short crime spree began Tuesday, May 24, breaking into an Edmond home through a window with another person. The two suspects lead the man inside to his bedroom. Then, bond his legs and hands with duct tape, and covered his head with a pillow case.

Logan County investigators said one of the suspects beat the victim, and then held a gun to his head while the other person searched the home for valuables. The two took off with guns and about $7,000 in cash.

On Thursday, May 26, investigators said the teen and two others struck again.

“He was startled. I was startled and I grabbed him and threw him behind this door and started to slam the door,” said Don Keeton.

Terrified, the man now identified by investigators as Kyle Mitchell, took off and slipped out the front door.

Don Keeton walked outside to watch the man leave and call for help, but instead was met by a second person, the teenager.

“I came up here and he turned that corner and put the gun to my head,” said Keeton.

The teen demanded Keeton drop the phone. Keeton ran inside to grab his gun as the teen grabbed for his phone. Keeton said the teen broke down his locked door and forced his way into the home.

“I knew that he was in the house but once I reached my pistol I had the upper hand,” he said.

After a short pursuit with Edmond Police, the two men inside Keeton's home and a third woman, Shayla McCoy, were arrested.

Investigators continue to search for the second suspect from the first break in. They said it's possible Mitchell may be linked to that crime too.
