Two male inmates died over the weekend while in custody at the Oklahoma County jail, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported Monday.

The first death happened Friday night. A jailer found Joseph Carter Wilson, 30, hanging from the cell he occupied by himself.

Wilson was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Wilson was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on October 5 on multiple complaints including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, indecent exposure, assault and battery on a police officer and plan to perform an act of violence involving serious bodily injury, OSBI reported.

The second death happened Sunday night. About 6:30 p.m., a jailer found Cody Joe McDonald, 28, hanging from the cell he occupied by himself.

McDonald was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

McDonald was booked in the jail on May 5 on eight complaints which included drug and weapons violations.

The medical examiner's office will determine both causes and manners of deaths. OSBI agents will investigate the men's deaths.
