A 3-year-old Norman boy’s valiant fight against a malignant brain tumor is rallying others across the Metro.

Doctors diagnosed Avett Langford with brain cancer in December of 2014. He’s been through several rounds of chemotherapy and proton therapy treatments at OKC’s Procure.

His father Lucky Langford said his son has faced his challenges head-on.

“Whatever he needs to do he does it. No matter what medicine he needs to take, or he’s getting a needle in his port, or he’s getting a mask for an MRI, you know to get the gas, to go under, he just kind of grips down and does what needs to be done.”

On Saturday, the State Theater in Harrah will host a benefit concert for Avett and his family. Tickets are $10 each.  All proceeds will go to the family to help with medical expenses.

Zac Keever went to OU with Lucky Langford 15 years ago, and organized the event. “We’ve got a great group of musicians coming together for it, so we’re real excited to get out here and if nothing else, create awareness for this brave and courageous little boy.”
