A man is in police custody after being accused of being responsible for at least 10 recent vehicle break-ins, Oklahoma City police said.

Investigators said Kevin Clay, 31, burglarized motorists after they stopped to fill up with gas at area convenience stores.

Police say the vehicle Clay used as his getaway car was pulled over last Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

The driver was a Clay family member. She led police to Clay and his girlfriend, who told police she had received several expensive purses from Clay in recent months as gifts.

Police said Aurelia Horrell was one victimized by Clay back in February.

“He’s sneaky. Well, I guess so,” she said Wednesday afternoon.

Clay was booked into the Cleveland County jail. He’s under hold for Oklahoma County as well.
