A small earthquake shook up resident near Luther, Oklahoma Saturday afternoon.
The 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded at approximately 3:39 p.m. Its epicenter was located just NE of Luther, 12 miles north, northeast of Choctaw, and 22 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
It was about five and half miles deep.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
