Oklahoma City Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias retired the first 11 batters he faced and shortstop Zach Walters hit two home runs in the Dodgers’ 7-1 win against the Memphis Redbirds Friday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Urias (2-1) earned his second win of the season, striking out eight Redbirds batters over five innings. He held Memphis to one run and two hits and walked one in front of a sellout crowd of 10,167.

Shortstop Zach Walters became the first Dodger of the season with a multi-homer game, hitting a two-run shot in the second inning and an opposite field solo homer in the sixth inning.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford, who was with Oklahoma City on a MLB rehab assignment, went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and scored a run.

The Dodgers (8-7) built an early lead, scoring three runs in the second inning, as they went on to earn a 2-2 split in their series with the Redbirds and close out their homestand.

Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes drew a one-out walk, then stole second base. Second baseman Micah Johnson followed with a RBI single toward short to bring home Barnes for the first Oklahoma City run of the night.

Walters stepped up to the plate next and crushed a two-run home run to the upper deck in right field for a 3-0 Oklahoma City lead.

Urias had six strikeouts through three innings and held the Redbirds without a hit until the fourth inning when Memphis’ Anthony Garcia doubled on a fly ball to right field. Garcia later scored Memphis’ first run of the night on a RBI single to left field by Nick Martini to cut Oklahoma City’s lead to 3-1.

In the fifth inning, Crawford picked up his second double of the game on a fly ball to right center field, then scored on a RBI single by Rob Segedin to put Oklahoma City ahead, 4-1. Segedin has now hit safely in eight straight games.

Walters hit his second home run of the night in the sixth inning, giving the Dodgers a 5-1 lead with an opposite field solo homer to left field.

Crawford’s third hit of the night – a two-run single – put Oklahoma City ahead, 7-1, in the sixth inning.

Memphis starting pitcher Arturo Reyes (0-2) was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs on nine hits over 5.2 innings. He walked two and struck out five.

The Dodgers finished their first homestand of the season with a 3-4 record. Memphis fell to 7-7 overall.

The Dodgers begin their second road trip of the season with a 7:08 p.m. game Saturday against the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines.
