Four Charged In Connection To Woman's Death In Nicoma Park

Arrest warrants have been issued for four people charged in connection to the death of a woman, whose body was found in Nicoma Park.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's office held a news conference Tuesday to announce warrants issued for four people in connection to the death of 26-year-old Alecia Payne. Payne was found dead on Thursday, March 31 near N.E. 32nd and Westminster. Her cause of death is pending.

Authorities confirmed with News 9 that four people, later identified as 40-year-old Michael Lee Brown, 39-year-old Jeremy Eugene Steelman, 19-year-old Shyann Nicole Lowery, and 30-year-old Melissa Evans, have each been charged with one count of desecration of human corpse. Evans is currently being held at the Tulsa County Jail on a prostitution complaint.

According to an affidavit released on Tuesday, on April 9, investigators received a tip that Payne had been seen on March 30 at the Super 8 Motel located at 3852 S. Prospect Avenue in Oklahoma City.

On April 14, investigators obtained records and video evidence from the hotel where Payne shared a room with Brown, from March 23 to March 31.

After reviewing surveillance footage, investigators learned that between 4:45 p.m. and 5 p.m.on March 30, the four suspects conspired to remove Payne’s lifeless body from the hotel, which was wrapped in the same blanket that was found next to her body in Nicoma Park.
