Metro Students working toward a diploma instead are getting word that their education at the college is over.

Wright Career College has filed for bankruptcy and is closing its five campuses - including the one in southwest OKC.

Students arrived this morning to locked doors, a closed notice, and an uncertain future.

"I spent three years of my life and $30,000 in debt and I get a paper on the door," said Destiny Morales, who had just two more weeks of classes before graduating.

Morales says she can't find a similar college that will accept her credits from Wright. The Kansas-based college announced administrative layoffs in March. At that time, it also said it was looking to partner with another school about the possibility of “teaching out our current students.”

According to an email that went out to students Thursday night, the career college said “It's unable to maintain operations any longer.”

"When rumors started going around, they assured us that we were protected," said student Jennifer Montgomery.

Wright had around 3,000 students. Some tell us they've been told their student loan debt will only be forgiven if they don't enroll at another school.
