Oklahoma State’s Brittney Martin became the fourth player in program history taken in the WNBA Draft on Thursday night, with San Antonio selecting the All-American with the first pick (25th overall) of the third round.

Martin joins Andrea Riley (No. 8 overall by Los Angeles in 2010), Toni Young (No. 7 overall by New York in 2013) and Tiffany Bias (No. 17 overall by Phoenix in 2014) as Cowgirls to be taken in the league’s draft.

A native of Syracuse, Utah, Martin put together one of the most decorated seasons in program history as a senior.

Martin became the first Cowgirl named the Big 12 Player of the Year and was also the league’s defensive player of the year. She was tabbed as a third-team Associated Press All-American and received honorable mention WBCA All-America status for the second year in a row.

She was tabbed as a Wade Trophy finalist by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and also appeared on the Naismith Trophy Mid-Season Watch List.

On five occasions, she was named Big 12 Player of the Week and was named the College Sports Madness Big 12 Player of the Week four times. Martin was also a first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick this past year.

A unanimous all-league pick for the second year in a row, Martin was named to the league's all-defensive squad for the second consecutive season.

Martin became the first player in Big 12 history to finish as its leader in scoring, rebounding and steals in the same season. The senior averaged 20.4 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.7 steals per contest and finished the year with 20 double-doubles.
