Three people are in custody after a chase that spanned two counties from Pauls Valley to Purcell. It happened Wednesday after police say a woman walked out of the Pauls Valley Wal-Mart and hopped into a getaway car.

“They had a suspected shoplifter in the building that had loaded up on a lot of video games and movies and taken them into the bathroom,” Assistant Police Chief Derrick Jolley said.

The woman, identified as Tanavita Hendrix, jumped into a white Chevy Cavalier and took off. And police were soon hot on her trail.

“A white car pulls up and stops quickly with the driver’s side door open,” Jolley said.

Inside the car with Hendrix was Felicia Pless and Abraham Lincoln Kerns, and they high tailed it to I-35.

“At the top of the ramp the suspect vehicle side swipes an SUV,” he said.

She then pulled onto the interstate and gunned the engine.

Pauls Valley police contacted Purcell police, and officers staked out all entrances into the city to keep this trio from leading the chase into town.

With the officer's body camera fully activated you can see them reach into the trunk of the cruiser and pull out stop sticks that ended the chase.

“It is irritating that somebody would do that, but these people have a criminal history of similar allegations,” Jolley said.

Inside the vehicle officers found movies and video games store employees suspected the suspects of stealing and a cocaine pipe. All three are in the Garvin County Jail.
