Police finally caught up with a man they've been on the heels of for more than a month.

They said he masterminded four armed robberies, but slipped up when he applied for a job next to one of the places he robbed.

"Over the last six weeks we've had a total of four armed robberies by an Hispanic male,” Warr Acres Police Department detective David Richards said.

But once police got there, they could never find him. His first stop was a Boost Mobile store in Warr Acres, and each time he'd always carry a knife and threaten store employees.

"He'd come into the businesses towards their closing time with a large knife and brandish it and demand money, and when he would leave he would threaten them further by telling them if they called the police that he would be back,” Richards said.

Police said Jose Juan Carlos Tierra Blanca Lopez would go behind the counter of each business and have a sales associate grab money from the register.

He would eventually come full circle and go back to the first store he robbed.

Detectives said he also targeted a Cricket Wireless and a Metro PC.  He then took off and hid inside a restaurant where police say he drank two beers and also applied for a job.

"He actually left his phone number looking for a job at the business he went in,” Richards said.

So police called him and set up a fake interview for that job. Lopez gave them his address.

"He answered from the apartment, and we ended up getting a search warrant and get him,” Richards said.
