Scary moments for an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper during a routine traffic stop.

A News 9 photojournalist drove up on the scene just before 11 p.m. at Broadway Extension near NW 122.

Troopers said another driver slammed into the back of the trooper's patrol car while he was executing a traffic stop. The driver of that second car, identified as 28-year-old Jake Keyes, was taken into custody on scene. Troopers said there was an odor of alcohol.

Keyes is being held at the Oklahoma County jail on a DUI complaint. His bond has been set at $2,000.

The trooper was treated and released from a hospital Friday night. He suffered minor injuries that were not life-threatening.
