OKLAHOMA CITY - Two police officers were taken to Mercy hospital early Friday morning after an arrest attempt gone wrong.

The officers were responding to a call at SW Grand Blvd. and Douglas Ave. when an intoxicated man began to fight them. The officers took the man into custody, but as they attempted to do so, the K-9 release button was accidentally pushed.

The dog bit the first officer in the forearm and when the second officer attempted to assist, the dog bit that officer in the hand. Both were transported to the hospital, treated and released.

The suspect remains in custody.
