McAlester Police made an arrest after someone called in about a man throwing suspicious items into a dumpster.

Officers found a bank bag in the dumpster with several checks made out to the Freewill Baptist Church. They found a broken jar with a child's picture on it that was a donation jar and a surveillance video recorder, a news release states.

Police say they talked to Jackson, and he admitted to the burglary. He was booked into the Pittsburg County Jail on a complaint of second-degree burglary.

Officers were able to recover everything expect $400 in cash that was taken from the bag and about $10 from the donation jar that was for a child the church had adopted.
