Crews Battle Blaze At NW OKC Apartment Complex

Crews are on the scene of a fire at an apartment complex on the northwest side of the metro, Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called out to a fire at the Arbor Glen apartment complex located in the 1800 block of N. Minnie Ln., near the intersection of NW 19th St. and N. Meridian Ave.

Investigators say the fire started outside of the apartment and traveled up to the second floor, catching a balcony on fire and spreading to the inside of the apartment unit. Once on scene firefighters vented the roof and quickly got the fire under control.

In all, three apartment units sustained damage from the fire, smoke and water. Investigators say the cause was due to an improperly discarded cigarette.

Everyone inside the complex made it to safety. No one was injured.
