A Bartlesville man is expected to face first-degree murder charges in the death of his 2-month-old daughter. Jesse Carlos Pesti was arrested last week on complaints of child abuse and kidnapping when police responded to the infant's injury on March 10, 2016.

The baby has since died.

Court records show Bartlesville Police were called to an apartment complex at 312 SW Santa Fe after a woman called 911. She reported Pesti slapped their child on the right side of the head.

When officers got to the couple's apartment, they found the 34-year-old Pesti agitated and holding the child in his arms. He would not allow the police to hold the girl then "tried to get through the officers and paramedics to get the child" after an ambulance arrived, according to court documents.

The baby suffered from a skull fracture to the right side of her head, according to police. She was transferred to a Tulsa hospital where she later died.

An affidavit filed in Washington County court states the mother told officers Pesti threatened to kill her and the child multiple times.

Pesti is expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
