The condolences, the tributes, and the praise for Aubrey McClendon continue to pour in Thursday.

It's clear that McClendon touched a lot of people in Oklahoma City and across the state, and one way was through his love of Boy Scouts.

As News 9 mentioned Wednesday, Aubrey McClendon was an Eagle Scout and earned his eagle rank in Oklahoma City, as did both of his sons, which was a true source of pride for him.

Over the years, he did a lot to show his gratitude--giving very generously to the Last Frontier Council.

There are photos of McClendon at the 2013 re-dedication of the council's summer camp at Slippery Falls, refurbished thanks to a capital campaign that McClendon chaired and renamed Kerr Scout Ranch in honor of McClendon's family.

Scouting leaders say one reason scouting is thriving in Oklahoma is because of support from people like McClendon.

In recent years, McClendon has continued to support the Last Frontier Council by donating the use of his beautiful Arcadia Farm for the Council's annual sporting clays fundraiser. Local scouting has lost a major supporter.
