Three Tulsa residents are accused of acting as couriers to bring a dozen kilos of crystal meth to Mississippi.

Crystal meth, or ice, is meth in its purest form.

The Sun Herald newspaper in Gulfport reports 23-year-old Christian Manuel Garcia, 27-year-old Refugio Garcia De Lira and 20-year-old Nancy Lizbeth Ramirez are being held for hearings in U.S. District Court.

The criminal complaints say a Mississippi Highway Patrol officer assigned to a DEA Task Force arrested the three Saturday night.

They appeared before a magistrate judge Monday and are being held pending a preliminary hearings later this month.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
