After making a hard push in Oklahoma and Texas, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, won both states on Super Tuesday.
CBS News projected him to win his home state and Oklahoma.
"God bless the great state of Texas, and God bless the great state of Oklahoma!" Cruz said during a victory party in Houston.
Cruz spent Monday campaigning throughout Texas instead of other major Super Tuesday states in hopes to give himself a decisive win over GOP presidential primary front-runner Donald Trump.
Cruz also made a last minute tour of Oklahoma on Sunday, visiting Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Lawton.
