OSU's Jawun Evans Officially Ruled Out For Season

Posted: Updated:

A tough season for the Oklahoma State basketball team just got a little bit tougher, after head coach Travis Ford announced that star freshman Jawun Evans would be out for the rest of the year.

Evans injured his shoulder earlier in the season and didn't have a timetable to return, but Ford went ahead and made the news official after the Cowboys' 71-61 loss to Texas Tech on Saturday night.

Evans has been one of the few bright spots for the Cowboys this season, averaging 12.9 points and 4.9 assists in his first year on campus. Highlighting Evans' season was his 42-point performance against the then No. 2 Sooners back on January 13.

Oklahoma State should be competitive next season led by Evans along with Phil Forte, who should be granted a medical redshirt after his senior season was cut short in mid-November due to an elbow injury.
