The south wind will stay breezy Wednesday night, keeping temperatures from falling too far. We only drop to the mid-40s overnight.

Near-record temperatures are expected for many of us Thursday. Highs top out the in upper 70s Thursday afternoon. Our record in Oklahoma City is 78 degrees set back in 1986. The south wind will gust up to 50 mph at times which will lead to an extreme fire threat.

A cold front comes through on Friday, reducing the fire threat only a little bit.
