CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A Norman woman made a desperate plea for help to a 911 dispatcher as several suspects tried to break down her front door.

The home invasion happened in rural Cleveland County over the weekend, and one of the suspects was killed.

Dispatch: What's going on?

Caller: I don't know? Somebody just busted down our door; shot guns. My husband's got a gun. Please, help. Please, help. I'm in the closet right now. Please, help!

Cleveland County investigators are working to confirm the identity of a male suspect killed that night.

Details of the shooting are still sparse. Investigators said several suspects broke into this northeast Norman home Saturday night.

People living nearby told News 9 they heard several rounds fired from a gun.

"I do live in earshot and I heard about eight or 10 maybe 12 shots go off, and then it was dead silent. Then, about 10 minutes later, here comes the county," a neighbor told News 9.

Cleveland County investigators think they know the motive behind the home invasion but aren’t ready to release the details. But neighbors have their own theory.

"I heard that there was four or five guys wearing masks, and they kicked in and evidently they had the guy a target for some reason, because I was told when they walked in they said 'I’m going to kill you,'" the neighbor said.

Despite the supposed threats, News 9 was told the man and woman who lived at the home were not hurt.

The state medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy on the male suspect. Investigators hope fingerprints and other evidence will help them identify the man.
