NORMAN, Oklahoma -

Thousands of children live in foster care in Oklahoma, but through organizations like Citizens Caring for Children some of their basic needs are covered.

Now, one Norman business owner wants to do his part to make the program bright.

Nicholas Chase has a passion for clean cars and helping children. Through his business during the month of February, he's doing both.

“I've always loved cars, keeping them clean,” said Nicholas Chase, owner of Chase Detailing.

Setting up his table of supplies and popping up his sign, Chase can be ready to roll in just a matter of minutes.

“When I got my first car, I kept it meticulously clean,” he said. “It was kind of a shock to figure out that not everybody did that and it was kind of a skill to do that for people.”

Starting a mobile car detailing business a year ago, felt only natural to him.

“I just enjoy doing it on the weekend and when I finally figured out I can make money doing this, it was kind of a nice realization,” Chase said.

Before he started getting paid to wax and detail cars, though, Chase taught elementary school in Spencer. He said he always had a soft spot for the underprivileged students.

“Experiencing things first hand, working out in Spencer with these kids you see every day that they're coming to school hungry walking to school without coats on,” he recalled.

So, he decided to put his business to use and help underprivileged kids. During the month of February, he will donate 100 percent of all his profits to Citizens Caring for Children. The organization serves children in foster care by providing clothing, personal hygiene products and support through mentorships.

“I looked at my budget and I was like 'oh, OK, I have my expenses covered for February, now is my chance to give back,'” he said.
