A hit and run accident Tuesday morning left the victim fuming, but also thankful to still be alive.

It happened about 8:45 a.m. in the left southbound lane of Pennsylvania Avenue, just after the stoplight at NW 150 Street.

The victim— who News 9 will call Jay — said a speeding red Corvette tried to get around him, but instead lost control and plowed into Jay’s SUV, nearly totaling it, and activating the airbags.

The impact sent Jay’s SUV into the northbound lanes.

Fortunately for him, there were no northbound vehicles at that instant.

“All I could think about was my little girl,” Jay said.

He’s a single father who recently moved to the Oklahoma City area with his 6-year-old daughter.

Instead of stopping to exchange insurance information, the two men in the red Corvette sped from the accident scene.

However, a local physician who saw the whole thing followed the Corvette to a Quail Springs Mall parking lot, where snapped photos of the two men and took down the Corvette’s temporary tag number.

“I asked if they were going to come back to the accident scene. They started yelling obscenities and were threatening,” he said.

Oklahoma City police told News 9 they are investigating the incident.

“These guys have just absolutely no respect whatsoever for anybody’s belongings, or anybody’s life,” Jay said Tuesday afternoon.
