What makes Oklahoma special?  We think it’s got to be the people. And we meet some amazing people in our stories.  Here’s another example.

LOSS AND PREVENTION.

Bitterness and anger could have consumed Brandi Dees’ life.  She had a right to be angry. Her husband, Trooper Nicholas Dees, was killed by someone who was texting while driving.  “He was a normal person, a dad and a husband.  He was our hero.  We loved him.”  But instead of letting the pain of her loss consumer her, she made it her mission to keep others from experiencing the same.  Brandi got involved and months later, Oklahoma became one of the last states in the union to pass a law banning texting while driving.  Her victory is a victory for all Oklahomans.  “Maybe we can save someone else’s life.  Someone else won’t have to lose their father.”
