THE VILLAGE, Oklahoma -

Police are looking for the suspects responsible for knocking down and mugging a 91-year-old woman at a McDonald’s in The Village.

Colleen Godsy says she was walking out of the McDonald’s at Hefner and May at 9:45 a.m. on Monday and went to unlock her car door when someone grabbed her purse.

“All of a sudden I felt this tug and it was so severe, it just jerked my shoulder and popped me clear down on the ground and my coffee went this way and my purse went this way,” said Godsy, who knows the story could have ended much differently.

“I could not be here today, you would be having this interview with my son.”

But Godsy does have a nasty knot and bruise on the back of her head from where it hit the pavement.

“My head hit that cement so hard I saw stars. I just laid there for just a second to figure out what to do.”

She says employees at the McDonald’s came out to help her. And Godsy  was thankfully up and around Tuesday, and ignored friends advice to see a doctor.

“I thought if I had a concussion wouldn’t I have been kind of cuckoo or something?” she said. “Really, I don’t know how people act with concussions.”

Her grandson meanwhile quickly traced her debit card and discovered it was used at a Family Dollar on SW 59th and Santa Fe and a Sonic further south.

“My breakfast was $1.63, theirs was $16.00. So they had a lot bigger breakfast than I did.”

Her grandson tracked down a surveillance picture of the man who used the debit card at the Family Dollar. Godsy says there was also a woman who was driving a getaway car. And she desperately wants them caught.

“That’s not the first time they pulled something like that because it was too slick and too quick.”

If you recognize the man in the picture call The Village police. Investigators are trying to obtain clearer surveillance video from the McDonald’s, Sonic and Family Dollar.
