Oklahoma guard Peyton Little was named Big 12 Player of the Week for her performances last week against West Virginia and Iowa State, the league office announced Monday.

Little averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 31.0 minutes per game. She finished 13-of-25 (.520) from the field and was 6-of-11 (.545) from behind the arc in OU’s two victories last week. The honor marks Little’s first Big 12 Player of the Week award in her career.

With Oklahoma facing a season-high 16-point deficit at halftime against West Virginia, the redshirt junior scored all of her 23 points in the second half to lead the Sooners to a comeback win over the Mountaineers. Little’s 23 points in the second half are the most by an OU player since Danielle Robinson scored 24 on the road at Oklahoma State (second half) in 2010. The redshirt junior’s 23 points also marked a season-high for Little.

On Saturday, Little added in 11 of her 13 points in the third quarter on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor with three triples on the road at Iowa State. The Abilene, Texas, native tied for the team high in scoring on 5-of-10 shooting with a 3-of-5 effort from 3-point range.

Little ranks 15th in the Big 12 in scoring this season with 12.2 points per game. She is also ninth with 1.7 steals per game and is tied for ninth with 1.8 3-pointers a contest. In conference play, Little is averaging 11.8 points per game.

Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week.

The No. 20 Sooners (15-5, 6-3 Big 12) return home on Wednesday night to face No. 25 Oklahoma State (16-4, 6-3 Big 12) for their second Bedlam matchup of the season. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT at Lloyd Noble Center.
