Officers arrived and found the victim, 38-year-old Justin Lucas, lying on an upper level landing within the complex, suffering from gunshot wounds. Witnesses reported to police that an altercation occurred at the motel and a series of gunshots were heard shortly thereafter.

Lucas was transported to an area hospital and was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. Police said there have been no arrests in this case and the suspect is still outstanding.
