Two teenagers are charged with the murder of an Anadarko convenience store clerk.

Authorities say Son Duong was shot to death during an armed robbery attempt at the Kim's Country Mart, Saturday, January 23.

Surveillance images released to the public led to the identification and arrests of two suspects.

Joshua Lonewolf, 18, and 17-year-old Marcus Escobar were formally charged with first degree murder with deliberate intent.

The two made their first court appearances Wednesday afternoon.

Escobar, who did not have an attorney present for the hearing, spoke out of turn saying "I did not have deliberate intent."

His family declined to comment at the hearing.

Meanwhile, Lonewolf was represented by defense attorney Ryland Rivas.

Rivas said he's known the family for 40 years, and the charges have devastated the family.

"This family has never had problems with law enforcement so they are devastated with what’s going on,” said Rivas.

Lonewolf is accused of plotting with Escobar to rob the convenience store.

Caddo County District Attorney Jason Hicks said a joint-investigation between his office, the Anadarko Police, and Caddo County Sheriff found the two were deliberate in the crimes committed.

"He [Lonewolf] walked in the door pulled the gun and started firing too quickly for me to believe it was anything else,” said D.A. Hicks.

Hicks said surveillance cameras captured the killing.

According to court documents, Lonewolf shot Duong twice with a rifle, and fumbled around with the cash register, while Escobar acted as a lookout.

Investigators said both were caught on cameras calmly walking away from the scene.

Those surveillance images were released to the public.

Prosecutors said neighbors later recognized the suspects clothing hidden in some brush near Lonewolf's home.

Witnesses also spotted the two leaving the home with a rifle in hand.

"I have absolutely no qualms with punishing someone who is a teenager who decides to take a life," Hicks said he will be reviewing the case to determine if the state will seek the death penalty against Lonewolf.

Escobar is a juvenile, so that option is off of the table.

Both were formally arraigned in Caddo County Court and denied bond.

"We are going to get to the bottom of this and we think there's more to the case than what we know now," Rivas said.
