News 9 Employees Pack Backpacks For Regional Food Bank

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

As we've told you before, the Regional Food Bank's Food For Kids Program is very near and dear to our hearts here at News 9.

On Wednesday, members of our News 9 team took part in the ultimate backpack packing event.

Volunteers from every department spent four hours on Wednesday, loading backpacks with food. The Regional Food Bank will send these backpacks home with metro students every Friday during the school year to make sure they've got something to eat over the weekend.

The backpack program serves more than 13,000 students in central and western Oklahoma.
