One Dead After Reported Home Invasion, Shooting In SW OKC

One person is dead following a reported home invasion at an apartment complex on the southwest side of the metro, Monday afternoon.

Officers were called out to the scene at the Almonte apartment complex located in the 5900 block of S. May Ave., to the east of I-44 and just north of SW 59th St., after 12:30 p.m.

Police tell News 9 that two suspects, both men, are believed to be involved in the home invasion. One of the men kicked in the door of an apartment unit and was shot by a person inside. The other suspect then fled the scene on foot and remains at large at this time. 

EMSA was called to the scene, but the suspect did not survive. Police have not released the identities of anyone involved in this incident. The case remains under investigation.
