In a game the road team couldn’t get anything to go their way, the Thunder fell to the Nets 116-106 inside of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The loss ended OKC’s seven-game winning streak, while also snapping Brooklyn’s five-game losing streak.

Oklahoma City was without two of its starters after Andre Roberson exited the game with a knee injury in the first half, along with the fact OKC was already without center Steven Adams who’s dealing with an elbow sprain. Those injury blows came back to cost the Thunder, especially seeing Adams and Roberson are known as two of OKC’s best defensive stoppers. The Nets (12-33) made sure to take full advantage of the offensive freedom, and in turn Brooklyn shot a whopping 47.1 percent from behind the 3-point line while also grabbing 18 offensive rebounds.

Nets’ center Brook Lopez was a monster in the post throughout the entire game, and the Thunder really had no answer for him. Without Adams, Enes Kanter was assigned the primary responsibility of trying to stop Lopez, and despite giving his maximum effort, Kanter wasn’t ready for the daunting task. Lopez finished the game with 31 points and 10 rebounds and his post-presence alone freed up numerous scoring opportunities for the Nets.

Oklahoma City never led in the game, but got close with 6:16 left in the game after a Dion Waiters bucket got the Thunder within five points at 98-95, but both Thaddeus Young and Lopez had a response to end the Thunder run and put the road team away.

Kevin Durant totaled 32 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, while Russell Westbrook also flirted with a triple-double with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists of his own. Serge Ibaka and Cameron Payne each added 10 points.

Oklahoma City (33-13) will be back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Knicks inside of Madison Square Garden.
