OU Children's Hosts Winter Wonderland Prom

The Children's Hospital at OU Medical is making magic for hospitalized kids.

The "Child Life Department" hosted the inaugural Winter Wonderland Prom Saturday.

The prom is for children of all ages who are battling cancer, kidney disease and other disorders. 

"Some kids are sick during their prom and didn't get to go to their own prom so this is a chance for them to go to a prom, take pictures, and make memories,"  said Ashley Claver of the Children's Hospital. "We open it to all ages so that all the kids get a chance to go to a prom."

A lot of the kids have to be careful around germs so the staff said this is a place they know is clean and safe.

It also allows them to be around kids going through the same things they are and can provide support.
