Authorities all over the lower Midwest are looking for a husband and wife, who could just as well be the modern day Bonnie and Clyde.

Police are looking for 48-year-old Greg Ownbey and his 36-year-old wife Christina.

Police said the Ownbeys are suspected of stealing a BMW in Colorado Springs, Colorado nearly three weeks ago.

They said Wednesday morning the Ownbey’s skipped out on a Holiday Inn Express bill in Guthrie, then minutes later, stole a car belonging to Bette Butterworth, who had left her car running outside a convenience store.

Police said the Ownbeys then took an Eskridge Chevrolet sales associate on a half-hour joy ride in a Lexus, before getting out at Quail Springs Mall.

The saleswoman was uninjured.

Butterworth said she probably shouldn’t have left her car running at that convenience store.

“Idiotic,” she said. “Wouldn’t you feel idiotic?”

Sgt. Jeremy Thorne of Guthrie police said the Ownbeys are suspected meth users.

“They are on a nationwide crime spree that just came right through the middle of Oklahoma,” he said.
