A Highway Patrol trooper ran off the road Monday morning. It happened just before 9 a.m. near 116th Street North and Garnett in Owasso.

The trooper was apparently experiencing a medical issue, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. A passerby stopped to help the trooper, breaking the windows on the patrol unit.

There was a scrape mark on the trooper's car, and investigators think the vehicle made contact with a blue pickup truck.

Authorities say the driver of the pickup did not stop.

The trooper was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

Owasso Police and EMS responded, assisting OHP.
