The subject of a manhunt Thursday night is a free man now, and his ex says she’s afraid.

Police spent the night looking for 27-year-old Matthew Tyrone Webb after police say Webb brought his 2-year-old daughter to OU Children’s Hospital.

Doctors suspected the child had been abused and called authorities, but before police could get there Webb took off with his daughter. The pair was found Friday morning in Norman. The child, according to police, is ok but still hasn’t been reunited with her mother.

“Where’s my child?” Shamika Dickerson asked with tears streaming down her face. “They found her and I don’t know where she is.”

Dickerson says she was told her daughter would remain in state custody until she could provide a more stable home. She says Webb was supposed to return the child Monday after having her for the weekend, but refused to do it. She says her ex is a drug addict and a dangerous gang member.

Just this week, Dickerson says, Webb tried to force her into his car, set her car on fire, and promised she would never see her daughter again, all because Dickerson said Webb believed someone was abusing his daughter.

“What he was angry about he had no reason to be angry about,” she said. “It was all in his mind which means, which I know was just drugs making him think this over and over.”

Police took Webb into custody. He was accused of performing lewd acts with a child, but Oklahoma City Police now say the crime happened in Del City, outside of their jurisdiction, so they let Webb go. Del City police say they will follow up on the case.

Dickerson says she’s scared of her ex, and just wants her daughter back.

“I just want to see my daughter and make sure she’s OK,” Dickerson said. “I miss her. I just want to hold her.”
