PSO: Slight Decrease Coming To Customer's Electric Bills

Public Service Company of Oklahoma says effective immediately customers will see a slight decrease in their monthly bills.

In a news release, the utility says the decrease will be about $2.44 a month for a residential customer using 1,100 kilowatt-hours per month. 

PSO says it's making a $75 million interim rate increase while awaiting the outcome of its rate case filed in July 2015 with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.  The commission has not yet issued a final order in that case.   

But as this interim rate increase goes into effect, PSO is reducing its customer fuel charge by $140 million.

“We are pleased that even as we face higher costs in some areas of business, particularly in federal environmental compliance, we are able to lower fuel costs to offset the impact on our customers,” said PSO’s Emily Shuart, Director of Regulatory Services.
