MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -

Late Wednesday afternoon, charges were filed against a former Midwest City police officer accused of pawning police issued equipment. The investigation started back in November.

Count after count was laid out in court documents. There are 27 of them including concealing stolen property, false declaration of ownership to a pawn shop, and embezzlement. The accusations date back to 2014.

Things started unraveling after a guitar showed up missing from a church in Choctaw and was tracked back to former Midwest City Police Officer Lacky Harkins. Authorities said he used his undercover ID to pawn stolen equipment at multiple pawn shops across the metro after they checked his entire pawn history.

Detectives learned "he pawned his two city issued glock pistols multiple times" and "pawned a city issued glock that belonged to another Midwest City officer twice" along with a digital camera that was missing from the department.

Documents state Harkins also pawned a police trailer, and detectives said the GPS tracker had been removed and was found inside Harkins' desk drawer. He also admitted to investigators he stole more than $1,000 of special investigations unit buy money.

Harkins resigned from the Midwest City Police Department in November.
