A Talala woman pleaded guilty to child neglect for leaving her 1-year-old daughter in a car while she shopped at Walmart in Owasso last summer.

Owasso police arrested Hannah Secondi on July 28, 2015, after witnesses alerted them to the child being in the car by herself.

According to the arrest report, medics said the internal temperature of the girl was over 100 degrees when they took the baby to the hospital. The arresting officer said he made contact with Secondi as she was walking out of Walmart and she frantically asked if her child was dead. Owasso Police released body cam video of Secondi's arrest which showed her reaction.

According to court records, Secondi pleaded guilty on Monday. Judge William LaFortune gave her a two-year deferred sentence. He also ordered her to attend DHS parenting classes and to pay court costs.

The couple who rescued the baby from the vehicle told News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright at the time that an hour passed from the time they got the little girl out of the car until the mother came out of the store.

They said they heard a sound that caused them to look inside the vehicle and that's when they found the child. They said the driver’s door was unlocked, so they pulled the baby and car seat out and called 911.
