Neal McCaleb, who will temporarily take the reins of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority when Executive Director Tim Stewart leaves at the end of January, is stepping down from his current job with CP&Y, an engineering firm with which OTA regularly does business.

A spokesperson for OTA confirmed that McCaleb is resigning from his position as CP&Y's Director of Engineering, Oklahoma, effective December 31.

Dallas-based CP&Y is currently under contract to provide design engineering services to the Turnpike Authority.

Stewart announced last week he was leaving OTA in order to take a similar position in Denver, and that his last day would be January 31. McCaleb is already listed on OTA's web site as interim executive director.

Mr. McCaleb, who turned 80 last June, is not new to the agency. He served simultaneously as OTA's executive director, as well as, director of the Department of Transportation from 1995-2001, during the Keating administration.

McCaleb left state government in order to accept the position of Assistant Secretary, Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, where he served from July, 2001 until November, 2002.

McCaleb has also worked as an economic development consultant for the Chickasaw Nation.
