YUKON, Oklahoma -

Areas west of the metro were hit hard by winter weather Sunday and Monday.

At one point, there were at least 3,000 people without power in the city limits of Yukon on Monday.

The main streets were in fair condition Monday, but many neighborhood roads were covered in ice. So much so, some residents couldn’t get to work.

“We’ll probably just stay inside and stay warm and probably try to make it out in the morning and try to get back to work,” Teri Gordon said.

Trees were weighed down once again in her yard, with at least half an inch of ice. Dozens of debris piles from the last storm were out in front yards. A city spokeswoman said the most recent storm will only delay the pickup of tree limbs even further.

Christmas in the Park was canceled Sunday and Monday. It’s unclear whether the light display will be closed for the rest of the season, Jenna Roberson with the City of Yukon told News 9.

Yukon Mobile Meals also canceled its route Monday.

Late Monday morning, a neighbor reported finding a body in front of a home on Paisley Road. It was considered Oklahoma City police jurisdiction. Officers said the investigation is still underway but it appeared to be an exposure death.
