Police arrested a suspected car burglar after Tulsa neighbors spotted a suspicious man looking into vehicles Friday morning.

Officers responded to the 3400 block of East Archer just after 9 a.m.   Police Cpl. Larry Edwards says this particular neighborhood has had some recent auto burglaries, so they began a search and a short time later a K9 officer stopped 36-year-old Glen Moreland.

Edwards says the officer witnessed Moreland toss a handgun away as police approached.

Police said of search of Moreland turned up what appeared to be drugs and some items which turned out to be stolen.

Glen Mooreland was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of possession of a firearm, second-degree burglary, possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia.  Jail records show he is being held on $28,000 bond with a court appearance set for January 4.
