Quiet mild forecast continues right on through Christmas Day. No travel problems with sunshine and temps in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

The freezing line continues to creep a little further east, but the depth of the cold air will be key.

There is the potential for heavy icing, heavy sleet, and heavy snow, but exactly where that changeover occurs is yet to be determined. All 77 counties will be impacted by this storm over the weekend, and now is the time to start preparing and having backup plans for travel.

No need to panic, we've seen these storms several times, but you don't want to be caught off guard either. Remember we are still days away, and the forecast will change.

QUESTIONS WE STILL HAVE

Exact track of the low? How far east will the freezing line push? Exactly how much snow, sleet, and freezing rain?

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

This forecast continues to evolve so you need to stay tuned.Totals and locations will change. We have the potential for flooding rain along and east of I-35, a winter mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow along and west of I-35 (let's hope for more sleet than ice), and heavy snow in the panhandle.

Due to strong winds, near whiteout conditions are possible along with dangerous wind chills, and high snow drifts. Weekend travel issues a big concern.
